Let's just get right to it because I am exhausted, but not nearly as exhausted as my husband.
Lance took 1/2 a day on Friday so that we could get rolling and hopefully be done tiling before the big game on Sunday. So Friday we, spackled the walls, put some mud on some uneven surfaces, partially primed the walls and ceiling, filled this area by the water line with plywood to make an even surface for the tile, then put down all the backer board to prep for the tile!!!

Amazingly, we found another
linoleum floor under our existing
linoleum. There was no way we were taking these puppies out.

Lance's 2 helpers!

Friday night, putting the backer board down.

Lance enjoying his new wet saw.

Isaiah hated the ear muffs. We tried to get him to wear them during the "noisy tool" a.k.a the wet saw.

Two words for putting down tile. Knee pads!!!
We think it looks great, and love it. Grout is going in this week, and Papa Griz is coming on Friday to help with electric work.

All done in time to watch a very disappointing Bears game.
A very cute side note: We ask Isaiah when we pray before bed what he is thankful for, tonight he said he was thankful for the kitchen and for a hammer.
So much work! I bet you are all tanked, huh? The tile looks great, though!!!...especially when you see a picture of the linoleum before. Is the tile a beige/tan color? It will look nice with your cabinets and appliances!
ReplyDeleteHey Busy Bees! So fun to see the pics...the tile looks great! Too cute that little Isaiah (who looks like he has grown since Christmas) is hard at work too and so fun to hear what he is thankful for at this stage! Hope you guys have a somewhat restful week!
