Just another weekend at home.

This weekend we stayed home all weekend due to 2 little boys with runny noses. We had a good and relaxing weekend.  Daddy and Isaiah made and painted a bird feeder.  Daddy and Jonny watched some football, and Mommy cleaned, did some online Christmas shopping, and played with her new toy.

Jonny turns 5 months old today, he is getting so big.  So far he has eaten rice cereal, avocado, banana, and sweet potato.  He loves them all.  As of 4 months he was 97% in height, and he has grown an inch this month so I have a feeling he is going to keep those 90-100% height measurements coming.  Jonny is still hit and miss with his bottle (grrr)  sometimes he loves it and sometimes he screams.  He is getting up 2 times at night, which mommy is not thrilled about.  Isaiah was sleeping through the night at this age, so my expectations were that Jonny would follow suit.  However, he is firmly telling me that he is different, he doesn't need to sleep through the night yet.  He is perfectly content with getting up.  In fact, when mommy tries the tricks she did with Isaiah (fading the feedings by decreasing the time he is eating) Jonny starts squealing!  EEEEeeee... translation... give me more mom, I am not done.

Enjoy our home videos from the weekend.

The Boys

Today Jonny is 10 weeks old.  I tried very hard to get a picture of him smiling, his new skill, but he was not very cooperative.  I love this first picture of him, because I look at him and I see my husband.  Aside from the blond hair he is a miniature replica of Lance.

Isaiah is discovering his new love of movies, specifically Toy Story.  He asks to watch one of the 3 Toy Story movies everyday, and despite the ideas I had about no T.V. for him, these movies are a huge help when I am trying to get Jonny to sleep, have a quite time, take a shower, or get a work out in for the day.  Isaiah thinks Buzz lightyear is pretty cool, and he loves to play with his Mr. Potato Head now.

I have been so thankful for Isaiah's attitude toward Jonny.  He is so helpful, thoughtful, and gentle with his brother.  Jonny has started to notice Isaiah's voice and turns and smiles when he hears his big brother talking.

I also had certain expectations in my mind of how I was going to be very intentional about having the same amount of pictures for all my children.  I am not sure that is going so well.  We still have not had a family picture taken at all since having Jonny.  We will get one up here one of these days.

And one more of Jonny! Mr. Drool.

More kisses, melt downs and mosquito bits.

Jonny is 2 months and we are getting a bit more sleep in the Hinkle house.  We are spending most of the summer indoors this year with a few walks here and there.  Jonny does not seem to tolerate staying awake for more than about an hour before needing to sleep again.  This is wonderful for me to be able to play with Isaiah, but difficult for getting out of the house for groceries.   Isaiah has been falling in love with Toy Story the movies.  He gets to watch them when Mama is feeding Jonny.

Isaiah's mosquito bite that caused his eye to swell shut.

And this is what the evenings look like in the Hinkle house.
He is so cute, even when he is crying.

Brothers

Well, Tuesday Jonathan will be 4 weeks old.  This is both hard to believe and at the same time it feels like he should be older.  Jonny is doing so well.  He sleeps about 7 hours during the day and seems to have a pretty good routine down.  We are so thankful for a baby who naps.

Isaiah loves his little brother.  He boasts to friends at church and the grocery ladies that he has a little brother.  He gets very excited and says, "That's Jonny."  Isaiah loves giving kisses and helping get Jonny up from his naps.

Daddy and Mommy are doing well also.  We are getting enough sleep to make it through the day with a high energy two year old.  Mommy just ordered meals from a place called Simply Homemade to make the next few weeks a bit easier.  We have been so blessed to have meals made for us up until this point.  Papa and Gramzie Griz blessed us with a week of meals while they were here, then our church family took care of us for several weeks.  We are so thankful for the body of Christ.  We have also been blessed by Papa and GG Hinkle, they have been over sometimes 4 times a week.  They take Isaiah on fun-filled field trips, cook meals for us, and have come over and taken both boys so that I (Kylie) can take a nap.  We are so grateful for all of those who are selflessly serving us.

Jonathan Edward Hinkle

Announcing Jonathan Edward Hinkle, born June 21st at 7:13pm.  He was 7lbs 2 oz and 20 inches long. Jonathan was born in the middle of a tornado warning where we were wheeled into the hallway just after delivery.  We had to stay there for about an hour before we were able to go to a room.  I felt pretty lucky as there were some women laboring in the hallway.  So Jonathan is about 3 weeks old now.  And, yes, that is how long it has taken me to feel like my free time does not need to be spent napping.  Although I could probably easily fall asleep right now.  Jonny is proving to be a much easier baby than Isaiah was.  At 3 weeks he is taking pretty regular naps, he is a great eater, and he wakes up 3 times at night to eat.

Isaiah is a very compassionate big brother.  When he came to visit in the hospital he wanted to give Jonny kisses.  He also got very upset and began crying when Jonny cried saying, "What's wrong with Jonny Mama, hold him mama, hold him."  Isaiah has now adjusted to all the crying, but he gets concerned for Jonny when he is crying.  The only problem, if any, is Isaiah's desire for Jonny to be awake with him all the time.  There are time he is intentionally load so that Jonny will wake up and "play"

Waiting

I wish I had more to post at this point, but right now we are in a waiting phase.  I am officially 38 weeks this week, although I am not sure of the exact day.  Isaiah was born on the day I became 38 weeks, so my expectations are probably a bit high, but we are hoping to meet our little boy this week. (Well, I am hoping for that, Lance on the other hand, has a very busy week at work and would prefer that Jonny come at the end of the week or even next week.)  If he does not come, then, I get one more week of uninterrupted sleep.

Isaiah is as excited as you would expect a 2 year old to be about having a new brother.  He talks about how baby Jonny is going to sleep in the bed that is in Daddy and Mommy's room.  He tells us he is going to teach baby Jonny how to eat raspberries and meat in order to get big muscles, and of course he is going to teach him how to play with trains.  Isaiah was able to feel Jonny move a couple of nights ago and now he is fascinated with poking him so that he will move some more.

Hopefully you will see pictures of little Jonny the next time we post!!!
